As my little lad starts back at school as of tomorrow- it was time to have a play with his new Kickers laces.
Yes, I'm quite late to the party this year, and he's 8 years old- so it's about time he learns the tying his own laces right of passage.
This year I thought outside the box a little with his shoes as with previous years, I have always gone withy a sturdy, velcro style so he had no troubles putting them on and off at school himself.

So, Tyler didn't wear those socks to school- but he threw them on while we practiced.
He's had a little go at doing his laces before but this time, we decided we won't move until it's perfected.
I couldn't be prouder of his efforts.
Last night we sat for half an hour and he had it down, then this morning for school he tried and got it first go!
The laces are the rounded style so are a little trickier to tighten but I feel like that helped him learn even more (pulling them in and out to tighten them where needed).
