I’ve long had a love-hate relationship with sheet masks since they rose to popularity in the 2010s. For the most part, they’re over-saturated with product, poorly fitting, require you to leave them on for 20 minutes and ultimately terrify the dog into thinking you’re Michael Myers.
I stopped using them for a while, as I never really saw the results I wanted, but I recently stumbled upon a £6.99 mask that’s completely changed my opinion on sheet masks - and I’ll be rushing to stock up.
With the weather getting warmer and my skin getting drier, I tried out the Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler sheet mask and was blown away by the drugstore beauty buy.

Eucerin is a brand many of us will have seen on the shelves of health and beauty retailers and perhaps not really given much thought, but it’s the sister-brand to much-loved Nivea, so it’s perhaps been unfairly overlooked in the past - by me, at least, anyway.
Their Hyaluron-Filler sheet mask is more expensive than some of its rivals, like the £1.50 Boots Ingredients hyaluronic acid mask, or the £3.25 Garnier Moisture Bomb masks. But at £6.99 on the Superdrug website, it’s still cheaper than Vichy Mineral’s £9.50 mask.
Opening the mask, It’s neatly folded and encased in two layers of blue film to hold in the serum. One thing I noticed is that it’s not absolutely sopping wet, which I loved, as it didn't feel like I was holding it over the sink watching hyaluronic acid literally drip down the drain.
I peeled off the first layer of blue film and laid the mask over my face before removing the top layer. I was then able to manipulate the mask across my skin, spreading it across the contours of my face.
Typically, sheet masks are way too big for my face and end up wrinkled and ill-fitting, the mouth, nose and eye holes all way out of proportion. But the Eucerin mask was such a good fit, my features fitting neatly in the cut-out spaces, and the mask spreading across the skin in what a way so satisfying I can only compare it to when you expertly apply a screen protector to a mobile phone and nail it first time with no air bubbles.
The mask itself is made of biocellulose, a biodegradable material of natural origin, and once on, it stays put without slipping and feels as comfortable as a second skin.
Another bonus about the Eucerin mask is that the instructions only require it to be left on for five minutes, which is the perfect amount of time to scroll through a few cute dog videos on TikTok, or make a cup of tea. It’s not quite as disconcerting as other masks I’ve tried, either, so I didn’t traumatise my dogs, either.
Whilst on, the mask feels incredibly soothing and moisturising, it cools the skin, making it the ideal way to wind down in these warmer months. After gently removing the mask, I found that my skin looked visibly brighter, and that the redness I had previously was reduced and my skin tone more even. Dewy, fresh and rejuvenated, I couldn’t believe it had only taken five minutes to achieve.
As well as offering a more radiant complexion, the mask is said to also have some anti-ageing benefits, reducing fine lines, with the hyaluronic acid also penetrating further into the skin to reduce deeper wrinkles. While I can’t attest to that personally, it was worth every penny for the way it made my skin feel after use.
And it’s not just me who thought so, either, Superdrug shoppers have been obsessing over the £7 mask, too, leaving a string of five star reviews on the skincare product.
One said: “The mask stays on your face. No too much liquid that drips everywhere. Skin absorbed it very well. After removing it and massaging the face, the skin felt hydrated and smooth. Would say the best mask I've tried.”
Another added: “This face mask has worked magic on my skin. My skin is like glass and reduced the lines on my face.”
While a third wrote: “Easy to use....hoping for good results as i use the other products in this range, more expensive than other masks but much nicer to use and better fitting mask and slightly thicker so goes on more easily. I'm happy to pay a bit higher price...just waiting to see if skin looks better.”
It is more expensive than other masks, but for the application, fit, length of time and the results, I’d say it’s definitely worth the extra money. But, there is a way you can get it for free with a deal from money-saving site TopCashback.
