A mum says her teenage son was battered by a stranger in a random and unprovoked attack in Trafford.
Tom Ryan went to pick his mother Lorraine up from a work night out in the early hours of December 19.
The pair were getting into a taxi on Flixton Road in Urmston, when a man approached them.

Lorraine says he grabbed her from behind and pulled her back.
When Tom asked what he was doing, the stranger swung for him, she added.
The 19-year-old was punched several times in the face and sustained injuries to his knee as he tried to get away.
The ordeal came to an end when a friend of the alleged attacker restrained him.
Business owner Lorraine said the incident was 'horrible'.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News , she said: "I felt distraught, I felt sick. I was just screaming to get off him.
"My son is stunned and upset as he did nothing wrong. He’s only 19 and doesn’t drink, all he does is go to the gym and work."
Lorraine was enjoying a work Christmas party before the attack happened at around 1am.

"The girls had a lovely evening, we all had a really nice meal and then that happened," she added.
"Some of the staff had not been out for ages and everyone was really looking forward to it.
"This lad grabbed me back and started putting his fists up.
"My son got out the car and asked him what he was doing.
"The next minute, he started punching him around his head.
"I started screaming and tried to put my arm in the middle to stop him. He whacked my arm and my phone went flying into the road.
"He had four punches to the head and his cheekbones are all swollen.

"He tried to jump out of the way and his knee locked and gave in.
"The taxi driver got us into the taxi so we got home and I phoned the police to let them know what had happened. The guy just completely lost it."
Lorraine says the incident has been reported to the police.
The M.E.N. has approached GMP for more information.
