'I felt like Kris Boyd for a week' Kilmarnock's Gary Dicker jokes about goalscoring form

Gary Dicker has joked that he felt like Kilmarnock legend Kris Boyd for a week after he bagged two goals in as many games earlier this season.

The Killie captain scored in successive weeks in October, his first in a 2-1 win over Livingston before scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over St Mirren.

He is just one goal off of equalling his best ever goalscoring season, which currently stands at three in 2010/11 with Brighton in English League One.

But he admits the most pleasing thing is that his side picked up victories in the games he scored.

"I've never been one to be a goalscorer really, he told the We Are Killie podcast.

"Even in training, if a pass is on I would rather pass it.

"But I'm not going to lie, it is nice to score a goal – I felt like Boydy for a week, it felt good!

"It doesn't bother me if I score or not, it doesn't matter where the goals come from.

"I think my kids were in shock more than anything, they didn't know what was going on!

"They probably don't know the significance of me scoring two in one season, but it was a nice feeling.

"To get two wins is always a bonus."

He added: "My wife has banter with me always saying I am due to score.

"My brother always tells me he's put me on to score, I would just tell him to keep his money!"
