‘I drank the Kool-Aid’: Miserable Ohio MAGA man regrets everything, ditches hat, embarrassed about ‘all those stupid rallies I went to’

Life comes at you fast, but particularly so for Trump voters. Donald Trump‘s second inauguration feels like only yesterday, when they were hooting and hollering that it was time to Make America Great Again… Again! Smash cut to the present, and it’s safe to say America is further away from greatness than ever.

Trump has betrayed his explicit “America First” policies and begun a disastrous and costly war in the Middle East, gas prices are through the roof, grocery prices remain sky-high, America’s international reputation is in the toilet, and Trump himself appears primarily focused on his billion-dollar ballroom (surprise, surprise, taxpayers will foot the bill after all).

All of which has left some formerly die-hard MAGA voters wondering what happened to the Donald Trump they thought they were voting for. Case in point, check out this caller to C-SPAN who was asked why he’s MAGA no longer:

Just seeing the lies. He put us in a war. All Donald Trump wants right now is a clean face. He wants the Strait of Hormuz open. Guess what, before he went there it was open! And the gas prices were beautiful. I mean everything he touches. He’s putting up gold statues of himself. When are people going to wake up?

“When are people going to wake up?”

In retrospect, this Ohio man doesn’t even understand why he went MAGA and is ashamed that he ever put on that hat:

Now, I drank the Kool-Aid. How did I drink the Kool-Aid? How can I even answer that? All those stupid rallies I went to. I got rid of my Make America Great Again hat, okay, I can’t even believe I wore that hat!”

This growing sense of embarrassment is becoming common amongst those who voted for Trump, with that vote a lingering source of shame for anyone dumb enough to believe that Donald Trump was going to fix America’s problems.

It should be remembered that just because a voter has abandoned Trump, that doesn’t mean they’ve transformed into a Democrat voter who’ll rush out to vote for them in the November midterms. Most likely, they’ll remain at home on voting day or give their vote to a third-party or single-issue candidate.

And when Trump is finally gone, you can bet they’ll be right back at the Republican Party lapping up every single word of the next incompetent and evil lunatic they put up for election. But for now, take comfort in the fact that Trump’s base is rapidly disintegrating.

I doubt this’ll give Trump any sleepless nights. He’s already gotten what he wants from voters, which is why he can so casually abandon and betray them!
