Jamie Carragher has warned Liverpool's owners that supporters would not forgive them if they fail to find a solution to Mohamed Salah's ongoing contract negotiations.
The Egyptian winger is yet to reach terms with the club over a new deal, despite watching many of his current team-mates commit their futures to the Reds.
A recent report by the Telegraph suggested that Salah is searching for approximately £400,000 per week, a wage that would comfortably make him the highest paid player in the club's history.

What's clear is that there appears to be an inability for Liverpool and the representatives of the 29-year-old to strike a deal that suits both parties, and Carragher has insisted that the time being taken to agree a new package is concerning.
"You should be wary as a Liverpool supporter that this is dragging on," he told Sky Sports after the Reds' 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday evening.
"There are other big players at Liverpool who have signed contracts in the last three or four months, you think of the goalkeeper, Trent, Virgil van Dijk... huge figures in this Liverpool team.
"Salah will want to be paid as well as any top player in the Premier League and world football - and why shouldn't he? We're talking about one of the best players in the world.
"The problem that Liverpool are probably looking at is where does Salah go?
"The Spanish giants are really out of the equation in terms of the problems they have financially. Would he leave and ruin his legacy by going to Manchester City or Manchester United? Probably not. So that might be Liverpool's bargaining chip."
Liverpool's attacking presence was almost non-existent against the Gunners at Anfield, with many fans suggesting this sluggish performance offered a potential indication of the struggles the side may face should Salah depart.
The 29-year-old is out of contract at Anfield in the summer of 2023, with Carragher claiming that supporters would view his exit as an unforgiveable act if allowed to happen.
"For me, I would want this done as quickly as possible. That's not a case of just giving a player whatever he wants, but you can't also forget the price Liverpool signed Salah for," stated the ex-Reds defender.
"They didn't go and spend £100million to get Salah, they did a brilliant deal and that's what they're great at. The actual money the club have invested in him already in terms of the transfer fee and the wages he has had already, it has been a snip compared to what Liverpool have had.
"It's not a case of 'give him what he wants' but, Liverpool Football Club and the owners, I don't think they'd be forgiven if Mo Salah left this club in the summer or in 18 months.
"He is a Liverpool legend, one of the greatest players the club have ever had and it needs to be sorted sooner rather than later."
