'I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves' - Preston boss Alex Neil hails Nottingham Forest star

Preston boss Alex Neil feels Nottingham Forest striker Lewis Grabban does not get the credit he deserves but backed his defence to cope with the Reds' top scorer.

Grabban has helped Sabri Lamouchi's side soar into the top six as they chase a dream return to the Premier League and is one goal short of 20 this season.

Forest are hoping the former Aston Villa and Sunderland man will prove to be the key difference as the Reds look odds on to claim a Championship play-off place.

And ahead of Forest's visit to Deepdale on Saturday, Neil says the 32-year-old does not get the recognition for his all-round quality.

“Lewis Grabban is proven at this level; he will always score you goals," Neil told Preston's official website.

"He’ll always get 15-plus in a season and this one has been no different.

“He is more than just a goalscorer Lewis; I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves for how good he is.

"He can take the ball in, he can link it, he has good vision, he can run, he will stretch it in behind for you; but our two centre halves dealt with his well when we went down there and really kept him quiet.
