Australian 100 metre champion, Trae 'Quadzilla' Williams, is preparing to take on some of sprinting's biggest names at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Williams ran 10.10 seconds, the fourth fastest time by an Australian man, at the Australian Athletics Championships on Friday night.
"My time would have medalled at the past four Commonwealth Games but I know this one is going to be a lot faster," he said.
The 20-year-old is wary of Jamaican stars Yohan Blake and Asafa Powell and Canadian sprinter Andre De Grasse.
"They've all run 9.9 and lower so it'll be an interesting final," Williams said.
"I wouldn't be surprised if it was the fastest out there.
Williams ran the quickest time by an Australian sprinter in 11 years on Friday but he wants to join his high profile rivals below 10 seconds.
"There's still a lot of things I need to work on technically," he said.
"0.1 [of a second] doesn't sound like much but when you're racing there's a big difference."
Williams will be among the strongest sprinters on the Gold Coast.
"I have squatted 525kg," he said.
"I'm in the gym a lot. I don't skip leg day."
It has helped him earn his nickname 'Quadzilla'.
"I don't know, there's a few names going around so I'll take it I guess," Williams said.
"I didn't create it. It came from someone else."
