'I don't know how' - Zinedine Zidane makes major Real Madrid injury admission for Liverpool

Zinedine Zidane is fearing the worst with the injury situation at real Madrid ahead of their clash against Liverpool.

The Reds take on Los Blancos in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie on Wednesday night.

Jurgen Klopp’s men trail by a 3-1 scoreline, and face an uphill task to secure a place in the semi-final.

It’s not all good news for Real, however after they went through a tough encounter against arch rivals Barcelona on Saturday night.

Zidane’s side won 3-1, but key player Lucas Vazquez needed to leave the field with what looked like an injury, making him a doubt for the game against Liverpool.

Real have already been severely hampered by injuries this season, with Vazquez filling in as a makeshift right-back for Dani Carvajal who is also on the sidelines.

Speaking after the win in El Clasico, Zidane is not sure whether he can stop the continuous occurrence of injuries.

"We have to rest after today,” Zidane told Marca . “It's been two gruelling games. Now we have to rest.

"I don't know how we're going to finish the season.

"Physically, we're at our limit."

Prior to the first leg against Liverpool, Real were dealt a blow when Raphel Varane was diagnosed with Covid-19, meaning he and fellow centre-back Sergio Ramos were unavailable.

Other players on the sidelines for Real are Eden Hazard and Marcelo, with several other players including Toni Kroos and Federico Valverde just returning from injuries themselves.
