'I didn't enjoy it too much' - Pochettino makes honest admission about what happened this week

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he has not enjoyed the days since the foreign transfer windows closed despite keeping all his key players.

The Spurs boss had previously said he would 'throw a party' when the windows across Europe's major leagues closed on September 2.

However, when asked on Thursday whether he had enjoyed the days since they closed, with all his key names remaining in Tottenham, the Argentine gave an unexpected answer.

"Not really, not really. I didn't enjoy it too much. We were preparing. We were working, reviewing a lot of things, planning, talking," said Pochettino.

"A strange period, a weird period, that wasn't about having a party or enjoying. It was more about refocusing again on the competition and making a plan to provide the best tools for the team."

Pochettino revealed that he and his coaching staff had held an important meeting with his players on Thursday morning, with everyone now back from the international break.

"Now, for sure, it was so important to be refocused. The conversation today altogether now was with the squad we are going to have until January, when the rumours will appear again and different situations," he said.

"It was very good to talk today for nearly one hour and refocus again on our objective.

"To be clear in our minds, to think that the most important is the collective and start to put outside individual situations, all together again and try to create a dynamic and be strong and starting winning games. That's the most important thing for us now."
