'I didn't conduct myself in the right way': Sherif kicked off Love Island for breaking villa rules

Sherif Lanre has been booted from the Love Island villa for breaking the show's rules.

The chef and semi-professional rugby player was talked to by Love Island bosses, and then agreed to leave the show.

The 20-year-old's departure comes just nine days after the show began.

A Love Island spokesman told Mirror Online : "After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa."

Sherif said: "In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.

"I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.

"I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside."

Sherif was one of the original contestants who joined the show last week.

There was drama from the start after none of the girls picked him at the first coupling, prompting a race row.

There are no more details about why Sherif was booted from the villa today, but it's hoped it may be explained in the show tonight.

Before entering the villa, Sherif said his "outrageous" side often got him into trouble.

He said: "I’m pretty outrageous, that can also translate to the bad side.

"On top of that, I laugh at everything which sometimes gets me into trouble. I can’t really take anything seriously.

"My actual laugh, my hysterical laugh is pretty ugly. People around me get that a lot and have to deal with it."

He added of his personality: "I’m upbeat and cheeky and outrageous with my own friends so hopefully that continues in the villa.

"I’m always on a mission to make people laugh."

Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
