I did not quit Kundali Bhagya for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, people should remember I also quit Sasural Simar Ka when it was doing well: Dheeraj Dhoopar

Dheeraj Dhoopar, who quit Kundali Bhagya recently, is now seen in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. He will also be a a part of another fiction show Sheirdill Sheirgill soon. However, this was not reason why he quit Kundali Bhagya, says Dheeraj.

"I quit Kundali because I wanted to grow and see things in newer perspective. I had acted in Kundali for five years and the show has made me what I am today. But people should know that I did not quit the show because I wanted to do Jhalak... My parents have always taught me to take risks and I have also learnt that you need to exit something to start a new adventure. Jhalak and Sheirdill Sheirgill happened simulataneously and my baby also arrived so everything has happened at the same time. But this misconception that I quit the show because I was offered these shows, is not true," he clarifies.

Dheeraj also adds that this is not the first time that he quit a show when it was doing well. He says, "I did Sasural Simar Ka for five years and then quit the show, and soon bagged Kundali Bhagya. So, this is not the first time that I have quit a show when it's doing well. If you don't take breaks or don't try newer things, how will you grow? How will your career graph look?"

The actor also shares his views on the content on TV shows. He says, "We have to adapt to what audiences want. If I romanced a makhhi ona show and people liked it, we have to show that to them. Sometimes, you make great content and it does not get you numbers and sometimes you make content that's average and it brings in good viewership. So what audience likes is a great mystery."
