'I'd love to see it' - Man United fans react to Fred transfer update after Marco Silva meeting

Manchester United fans have been reacting to the news that Fred is a summer transfer target for Fulham.

The midfielder signed off the Premier League season with a deft assist for Bruno Fernandes’ winner during Sunday’s 2-1 home win over the Cottagers. After the game, Fulham boss Marco Silva was seen talking to Fred.

The Manchester Evening News understands the 30-year-old is a target for the London club, who signed Andreas Pereira from United for £13m last summer. The Reds are expected to fund arrivals by selling current squad members.

They are open to allowing Anthony Martial and club captain Harry Maguire - among others - to make an exit to try and manoeuvre within Financial Fair Play rules after last year’s £225m spend.

Fred has racked up 212 appearances for United since his 2018 arrival, with six of his 14 goals coming this season. He started just 12 Premier League games under Erik ten Hag, though, and has 12 months left on his deal.

He could be one player United let go, and fans have shown their appreciation for the Brazilian, with an exit on the cards following his filmed chat with Silva. Those on Twitter underlined they would like a hefty transfer fee in return if he does leave.

@jayrad1989: Would be a great signing for them.

@Savioursancho: Fred at Fulham would be a move I’d love to see happen.

@meticulous31: We have a chance to hit big figures in sales this summer. Henderson, Maguire, AWB, McTominay and Fred alone will generate at least £100m and that's before you include Telles, Bailly, Williams, VDB and Martial if we're lucky to get anything for them.

@jamesmoores_: If this is goodbye, it’s been a pleasure Pastor Fred.

@Caeser20201: He’s looking to sign him, Fred will do well in Fulham, he’ll be a starter and he could really help their midfield.
