'I'd love to' - Liverpool sent Harry Kane message amid Tottenham transfer rumours

Jamie Redknapp has urged his former club Liverpool to go out and sign Harry Kane from Tottenham in the summer.

According to Sky Sports, Kane has asked Spurs once again to leave the club at the end of the season, but that doesn't appear to be the full story.

Our sister title, football.london, are reporting that the 27-year-old has not directly informed Tottenham of his desire to leave, but his frustration with the lack of trophies during his time there means that he will consider a new challenge this summer.

The England captain has been heavily linked with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea - with Sky Sports claiming his preference is to stay in the Premier League.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have not really been linked with Kane, but ex-Reds midfielder Redknapp wants his former club to make a move for the prolific striker.

"I’d love to see my old team Liverpool go for him, but whether they’ve got the money right now, I don’t know their financial situation," the pundit said on Sky Sports.

"He’s obviously already spoken to clubs, or his representatives have, because his agent wouldn’t come out and say Harry isn’t happy at the club and he wants to go.

"He is a Tottenham legend, he will always be a Tottenham legend, maybe not if he goes to Chelsea because that won’t go down too well with the fans.

"I think right now, I can picture him in that Man City team, with De Bruyne, with Foden, playing up front, getting chance, after chance, after chance and winning trophies, working with one of the greatest managers to have ever worked in football, so I think it would be a good move for him.”

Other rumours suggest Man City want to sign Kane in the summer and 'plan to hold talks' with the Spurs talisman.

However, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will not allow these negotiations to be straightforward for the newly-crowned Premier League champions and will demand an extortionate fee for Kane's services.
