'I'd love that' - Aston Villa sent transfer message amid Nottingham Forest rumours

Aston Villa fans are backing a move for Nottingham Forest's Matty Cash.

The defender has been the subject of transfer interest this summer, with Premier League sides Burnley, Sheffield United and Fulham all linked with a move.

Villa were credited with an interest earlier this summer but reports this week have claimed they have the upper hand over their rivals, in particular West Ham United, because they are flush with cash and do not need to sell any players before they can buy.

Dean Smith's side are on the lookout for a new right-back this summer having alternated between Frederic Guilbert and Ahmed Elmohamady this summer.

And Cash, who scored three times and contributed five assists last season having been converted to a right-back by Reds boss Sabri Lamouchi, could fit the bill for Villa this summer.

Forest are said to be demanding no less than £15 million for Cash, with that money potentially allowing the Reds to strengthen elsewhere and stay within the Championship's profit and sustainability rules.

And Villa fans would like to see their side sign the Nigel Doughty Academy Graduate.

"Have this sneaky feeling we'll sign Cash," one fan said.

"Me too," said another.

"Would love too," a third fan said. Seen him play few times as my best mate is a Forest fan and think he has a lot to offer."

Another added: "I also feel this."

"I'd love that," said a fifth fan.
