'I'd like to invite Didi Hamann to my house' - Borussia Dortmund boss in fiery clash with Liverpool legend

Liverpool legend Dietmar Hamann was involved in a heated clash with Borussia Dortmund manager Marco Rose after their 3-0 win over Greuther Fürth Furth on Wednesday night.

Dortmund are only six points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich following the result - but pundit Hamann was critical of their performance.

Two goals from Erling Haaland, as well as a late finish from Donyell Malen, secured all three points, but the 2005 Champions League winner felt it 'wasn't enough'.

"You have 12:8 shots on goal against a relegation candidate [Dortmund 12-8 Furth], that's not enough for me," he was quoted in German outlet Bild.

Rose was left aggrieved with Hamann's comments, claiming this isn't the first time the former Red has been critical of his team.

"Didi Hamann nails against Borussia Dortmund," he said. "This is not the first time. And I don't think that's okay."

TV presenter Patrick Wasserzieher responded, saying: "Didi Hamann doesn't nail, he just gives his opinion."

Rose replied: "We know we played a disappointing Champions League season [failing to qualify from their group].

"But even after 16 match days we have 34 points and we played some good games. If we play like we did today, we obviously don't stand a chance [of winning the title].

"But we should be happy that we are the only ones in the Bundesliga trying to stick with Bayern.

"We have a good squad, yes. But we also have to deal with a lot of injuries and failures. And that's why I say, 'the criticism is not always fair'.

"Didi Hamann nails against Dortmund... I'd like to invite Didi Hamann here to Dortmund or to my house and then I explain things to him as they are."

Dortmund finished third in their Champions League group behind Ajax and Sporting Lisbon and failed to qualify for the competition's knockout stages.
