'I couldn't breathe' - Pablo Hernandez on the emotional rush that followed his last-minute winner at Swansea

Pablo Hernandez admitted that the celebrations that followed his last-minute winner at Swansea City left him breathless.

The Spaniard struck with 89 minutes on the clock to hand Leeds United a vital three points that has them needing just four points from their final three matches to seal a long-awaited Premier League return.

Hernandez was introduced into a hard-fought match at half-time by Marcelo Bielsa and as he has done in recent games, had the final say on proceedings when he received a pass from Luke Ayling and dug a shot past Freddie Woodman and into the back of the net via the post.

The goal sparked wild celebrations from the former Swansea man, who removed his shirt and was mobbed by his teammates on the pitch.

Following the game, the 35-year-old was asked about the jubilant scenes.

"Afterwards for five seconds I couldn't breathe," he said. "With the run the celebration, all the players with me.

"But I'm feeling very well. I celebrate a lot because I know it's a very, very important goal. These three points give us a good chance for the next game, the next three games to reach the target.

"I'm very happy not just for me, for my teammates, for the staff, for everyone in the club and for the fans.

"Everybody deserves this."

Next up for Leeds is a home clash against Barnsley on Thursday night.
