'I couldn't believe it': Man appears to pour superglue on football club shutters

CCTV footage appears to show the bizarre moment a man used thick superglue to stop shutters at an amateur football club from opening.

During the short clip, a man can be seen walking up to AEK-BOCO FC's building with his dog and apparently applying the substance.

Vice-chairman Donald Russell, who volunteers at the Hanham club which supports 500 children, said he spent hours removing the glue.

The incident happened on April 21, at around 9:10pm.

Police are now reviewing the footage and are appealing for witnesses.

"It's madness," said Mr Russell. "I couldn't believe it was a middle-aged man.

"He looks like he could be wearing his slippers so it's likely he's local.

"We don't have much money as a club so we couldn't pay for anyone to come out. I had to do it myself.

"When I told the committee what happened they all thought it was going to be kids."
