'I completely transformed my council house with items from Dunelm and Home Bargains'

A savvy mum has gone viral online after transforming her council house with items from Dunelm and Home Bargains.

Jade, who runs the account Brampton Gardens Home started renovating her Newcastle home in January 2020 and has since garnered a huge following on both TikTok and Instagram.

In a TikTok video with a staggering 281,000 views, the mum says she is "breaking a stereotype" by turning her council house into "something amazing", all whilst not breaking the bank.

Downstairs, Jade's "modern and Boho" house features some eye-catching furniture including a hanging egg chair from Home Bargains and an L-shaped leather sofa.

Accompanied by a gorgeous panelled wall and circle mirror, a £29 console table in the living room has been given a luxury upgrade with white-fur runner cushions, woven plate mats, and a uniquely-shaped plant pot.

Mirrors from Dunelm costing just £8 have also been used to create an elegant and creative display in the hallway.

When it comes to the kitchen, Jade said she revamped the space on an "extremely low budget".

Posting pictures of the transformation online, she wrote: "How to make the best of a rubbish situation with a low budget... [You] can’t beat a fresh whitewash of everything to cleanse the feel of an ugly space!"

Upstairs in the nursery - she has created any child's dream bedroom - complete with a house-frame bed and canopy, animal prints, a polka dot feature wall and a huge plush giraffe.

Jade has shown photos of the pad before carrying out her transformation - and it looks completely unrecognisable: with carpet-less floors, a ripped-out fireplace, old dark door frames and bare walls.

However, the bargain-lover isn't stopping anytime soon and recently announced plans on Instagram for a DIY project on her leather sofa.

"This area isn’t 100% complete yet…" the mum wrote.

"This main sofa wall will soon be panelled with shiplap! We are dying to get stuck in and do some DIY! Check out the before. The photos don’t actually quite show just how bad this place was!"
