A fry-up is a great treat for brekkie, but sometimes, they can end up costing a fair bit.
Once you’ve got your staple items like your sausages, beans and eggs, additional extras like hash browns and black pudding can soon rack up the price. Each week we’ve been comparing value staple items from supermarkets to test out the quality. This week, I wanted to find the cheapest fry-up ingredients.
As part of our weekly cost of living series, we’re trying to find cheaper alternatives to staple household products, which is why I’ve tried to include as many basic items as possible in this list. I found the prices of fry-up ingredients from Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Aldi to work out which supermarket has the best value.

Aldi came out on top with the fry-up ingredients costing a grand total of £6.03 followed by Asda at £6.93 and Sainsbury’s at £7.24. In terms of most expensive, it was close, but Morrisons ended up costing the most at £7.71 for bacon, sausages, eggs, beans, chopped tomatoes and black pudding.
