'I can't look at him' Piers Morgan furious after Boris Johnson's 'disgusting' care homes comment

Piers Morgan was left furious at the sight of Boris Johnson this morning after the prime minister's 'disgusting' comment on care homes.

Discussing Boris' new hairdo after barbers reopened over the weekend, Piers told Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid that he 'couldn't even look at him anymore' after what he said about care homes.

It comes after the prime minster was criticised yesterday for seemingly saying care homes were to blame for their high Covid-19 death toll, the Mirror Online reports.

He said: "Too many care homes didn't really follow the procedures" during the pandemic.

"Everybody but the government is going to be blamed by the government," Piers fumed.

"Imagine if you work if a care home, imagine if you know there was an instruction [...] to take people with Covid," Piers said.

Explaining how the government had responded to the criticism, Susanna said: "No. 10 have said that he wasn't shifting the blame."

Piers exclaimed: "That's exactly what he was doing!"

"It's a total lie, absolute lie," Piers continued.

"People buy into this nonsense. I think it's disgusting."

"The bottom line is in a global pandemic the government is responsible for protecting its citizens," Piers added.

"They were second class citizens at the beginning of this pandemic."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
