I Can’t Get Over How Many Sports Mini-Games GTA 6 Might Actually Have

One of the most appealing aspects of the Grand Theft Auto series has always been the freedom to pause the main storyline and immerse oneself in various side activities, such as mini-games. Judging by the humongous map planned for GTA 6, the odds are high that Rockstar Games will add countless things for the players to lose themselves in.

With over 115 million views on Trailer 2 already, the hype is at its peak, and we have enough evidence to conclude how many side activities and mini-games we can expect to see in this blockbuster. Since our passion is sports, let’s discuss the best sports mini-games you will likely encounter in GTA 6.

Weightlifting

The gym activities are returning to the GTA 6 series. In Trailer 2, Jason can be seen benching massive weights as if it’s nothing. More characters can be seen in the background, which could signal competitive weightlifting events.

While this could be us reaching, weightlifting has been a part of previous GTA games. San Andreas allowed CJ to visit different gyms to exercise, which in turn would boost your stamina and strength. Building on this concept, we might just be able to immerse ourselves in these competitions after pulling off a heist — crazy indeed.

Basketball

You can see a basketball court in one of the official GTA 6 screenshots. A group of players is tearing it up in the corner, which means we are likely to hit the court in Vice City. While it probably won’t be NBA 2K-level gameplay, it definitely would be entertaining. Imagine hardcore events featuring Jason, or even WNBA-style matches, including Lucia.

Tennis

If basketball enthusiasts are getting a separate court in the game, then why not the tennis freaks? In the first trailer released last year, there’s a quick shot of a tennis court just at the heart of Vice City, which is likely to offer tennis matches as a mini-game.

Apart from competitive matches with the NPCs, the game might also let Jason and Lucia play together after the regular criminal activities.

Mountain Drifting

Each of the trailers features mountain bikes and ATVs, plus there’s also a proper scene of Mount Kalaga, where riders are having a thrill with their dirt bikes. This indicates that Rockstar has packed dirt racing and mountain drifting into the game. Players will probably be able to jump either into a two-wheeler or a four-wheeler and join the chaos like in Wreckfest

Kayaking

Looks like Mount Kalaga is going to be a hub for all the thrill seekers. Apart from a dirt track, it features water streams for kayaking as well. The streams look stunning, and you can even see a flood gauge dipping inside the water. This means the game is going to offer serious kayaking, something that can’t be experienced in its predecessors.

Fishing

It appears to be a new addition to the game since fishing was never a part of GTA. Seen in the trailer, Jason and his mate are fishing off a yacht, making it a perfect activity for relaxing and exploring the water bodies of Florida. This likely means that players can fish outside missions, which might build on the fishing mechanics featured in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Road Racing and Stunts

Both of these things have been common in the GTA games before, and with the upcoming game, it’s only going to improve. Those classic stunt bonuses will still be a thing, but with enhanced thrill levels. Plus, road racing with newer cars and deep customization options will keep you hooked to GTA 6 for countless hours.

Mini Golfing

If you are into golf and wondering if the game has something for that, then Rockstar Games has got you covered. There is a shot from the game where the character Cal Hampton is posing with a golf club near a Gator-themed park. This likely indicates that you can make some tee shots in the upcoming GTA game.

Snooker

In the new trailer, Jason can be seen taking some clean shots with precision on a snooker table, which means good news for 8-ballers. The game will likely feature snooker events for you to always sink it with style.

Sports Video Games

Screenshots from trailer 2 have gone viral, clearly showing a gaming console with a controller identical to the DualShock 4. Just like GTA: San Andreas, which allowed for console play, it appears that the upcoming game will feature this option again.

When it comes to using this console, we can expect sports mini-games inspired by NBA 2K or EA FC. Video games inside a video game — truly inceptionesque.

Cage Fighting

Although violence is the core part of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, we haven’t seen a proper fighting cage in the game since GTA4’s The Ballad of Gay Tony DLC. But with Lucia’s footage of kicking someone’s rear in the trailer, the chances are high that we will likely see underground cage fighting in the game.

Diving

Florida is all about the oceanic experience; that’s why Rockstar has decided to bring you closer to it than ever. Scuba diving is one of the most engaging sports activities in the world. As seen in the trailer, you’d get to dive deep into the ocean, explore marine life, and practice your breath and stamina.

Sports Activities That Aren’t Confirmed Officially

While the activities mentioned above are likely to appear in the game, some are yet to be announced or might be seen only after the game fully releases.

According to leaks, trailer analysis, and insider info, these activities are rumored to be seen in the game:

  • Skateboarding
  • Rock Climbing
  • Jet Ski Races
  • Cycle Races & Challenges
  • Paragliding
  • Wingsuit jumping

This is everything we know about the sports activities featured in Grand Theft Auto 6. As of now, the game is looking very promising. From weightlifting to paragliding, there seems to be something for everyone.

These won’t be just in-game activities, but essential to bring Vice City to life. Remember, Rockstar is not aiming for a game over here. Instead, they want to simulate everything fun, quirky, and chaotic about everyday life. So, let’s wait and see what they cook up. Until then, check out our picks of the top 5 Sports In non-sports games.
