Newcastle United have broken their transfer record by signing for a reported fee of £40m.
The deal smashes the previous record of £20m paid for Miguel Almiron from MLS side Atlanta United in January.
Pretty much any development divides opinion amongst Newcastle fans but there's plenty of excitement following this deal.
While there is still plenty of issues at the club, Newcastle fans are - on the whole - celebrating spending big on a new signing after doubling their previous transfer record.
The announcement from the Magpies even led to Joelinton and Hoffenheim, where he signed from, trending this evening. Whilst many other fans will not be persuaded to get excited about this deal, some are certainly a little happier tonight.
