'I can't believe he's ours' - Arsenal fans rave about William Saliba's Saint-Etienne display

Arsenal completed a number of signings in the summer that have worked to differing degrees.

Nicolas Pepe - the standout in terms of price and expectation - is yet to really find his feet as he continues to settle in north London, while Gabriel Martinelli has quietly excelled in his cup and sub appearances.

But one man Gunners fans are yet to see much of is William Saliba, the 18-year-old centre-back who was signed for £27million before being loaned back to Saint-Etienne for a year.

The defender suffered a hamstring injury that kept him out of action until the start of October, but since then he has excelled in Ligue 1 with his side's improved fortunes coinciding with his return.

After four losses, two draws and one win from their opening seven games in the league, Claude Puel's side are now on a run of four wins and one draw from their last five.

Saliba has appeared in each of those five games since returning from injury (one of which was a one-minute cameo at the end of a 1-0 win), as well as two 1-1 draws in the Europa League.

Saint-Etienne are now two points off second place in the table following a 1-0 win against Monaco on Sunday evening, with Saliba dominating the game against the league's top scorer, Wissam Ben Yedder.

And Arsenal fans cannot quite believe their luck in acquiring such a promising talent...
