'I called my daughter Triptych and laugh at mean comments about her name'

When it comes to baby names, some people love to opt for a classic, while others would prefer a more unique moniker for their little one.

Olivia and Hugo von Halle are firmly in the latter category, with their three children having very unusual names.

The couple recently announced the birth of their baby daughter in The Times, with a 22-word classified notice that went viral when people noticed what the kids were called.

It read: "VON HALLE on 23rd February 2021 to Olivia (nee Falconer) and Hugo, a daughter, Triptych Alabama Bliss, sister to Hieronymus and Dionysus."

And in case you were curious, Triptych's brothers' full names are Dionysus Cosmo Chaos and Hieronymus Vladimir Azax.

Online people compared the name Triptych Alabama Bliss to a type of font and joked they'd have "no problem getting their first choice email address".

But Olivia, 37, doesn't mind the nasty comments on social media about her baby's name, in fact, she claims to love it.

Speaking to The Times, the luxury pyjama designer, admitted that she and her husband enjoy that people get so much entertainment out of what they have called their kids.

"We love it, honestly we do," she said. "The meaner the better, it makes us laugh so much."

Explaining why they decided to pick such out there names for their family, Olivia is quick to assure people they didn't do it to be cruel.

Instead, she blames her own name - which has been the most popular name in the UK for years.

"I've got the most common name in Britain, there are thousands of Olivias born every year," she told the publication.

"It's my reaction to being known my whole life as Tall Liv, Posh Liv, Crazy Liv. I wanted my children to have something unusual."

Along with their unique names, the three siblings all have nicknames - with Triptych being called Trip, Hieronymus known as Hero and Dionysus going by his middle name, Chaos.

And their mum's not concerned about her babies being bullied because of their names.

"Hero's best friend is Fox. And he goes to school with a Raver and a Wilder," she adds. "If you're called John it doesn't stop you getting bullied."
