'I bought engagement ring in charity shop for £1 - its worth was even sweeter'

While Bargains hunters hope to discover rare finds as they venture into charity shops, they can only anticipate that they get their hands on expensive goods for a fraction of their original worth.

One woman has been highly anticipating the valuation of an engagement ring that she purchased in her local charity store for the jaw-dropping price of just £1.

Ellie Page, who works in marketing, went viral on popular video-streaming service TikTok after she explained how she stumbled across the "amazing" deal.

After her video surpassed a whopping 8.7 million views, watchers begged Ellie, who boasts more than 30,000 followers on account @elliepaage, to send the ring professionally valued to discover its worth.

In the original video, Ellie experienced a "crazy feeling" before walking into her charity shop where she found "something amazing".

While in the store, a woman was present at the counter, saying: "This is my engagement ring, I don't want it, and I don't want any of the money that comes from selling it, I don't want anything to do with this man, I don't want anything from him."

"I want you to put it in the charity shop and list it for £1 - I want you to sell this for £1 and whoever buys it, it's their lucky day."

After taking the ring off of the woman's hands for just £1 on the April Bank Holiday, Ellie finally shared an update with viewers on the surprising worth of the ring.

In a recently uploaded clip, the TikToker said: "Ring update! They called me and they said that the stones were worth nothing - I thought that despite everyone thinking that they were going to be worth something.

"However, it was gold! They calculated the weight in gold and they've told me that they can give me £267. I rejected that and told them to send it back.

"I'm going to look around elsewhere because I think it would be dumb to accept the first offer.

"And for everyone telling me to keep it - we are in a cost of living crisis in the UK, I need that money."

She added: "What's crazy is that I made quadruple that on the creator fund, so I spent £1 on this ring and once I've sold it I will have made around my monthly wage just for picking up a ring from a charity shop."

Since sharing the much-anticipated update online, people fled to the comment section of the TikTok video to praise Ellie for her sensational bargain.

One person wrote: "Girl that's awesome!!!!"

"GET THE BAG GIRL," a second added.

A third penned: "Good on ya girl!! Best of luck!"
