'I bought a Morrisons essentials food box and discovered exactly what's in it'

As long as you're not fussy, Morrisons has said it will deliver a box packed with enough food and other essentials to last two people one week.

The boxes come in vegetarian and meat-eating varieties, cost £30 plus £5 delivery, with the option to get them as soon as the next day as long as you make the 3pm cut off.

With the promise of hard-to-find items such as loo roll, pasta and baked beans, the boxes are selling out - with delivery slots booked out fast.

But the supermarket assured customers that new slots were made available throughout the day.

But the burning question is: What will they actually have in them?

The good news is Jenny Amphlett managed to get hold of a delivery slot, and has spilled the metaphorical beans on exactly what was in hers.

What you get included in the Morrison's essential food deliveries (Stoke Sentinel)

"I ordered a food box online during my lunch break and it was delivered to my home at lunchtime the following day," she told StokeOnline.

"A large Morrisons-branded cardboard box was delivered to my door by a DPD courier, who politely kept his distance didn't ask for a signature.

"The box contained a thank you note from Morrisons and was divided in chilled and non-chilled sections, with ice packs and wool packaging to keep the chilled food cold."

She even got loo roll! (Stoke Sentinel)

This is what was in her delivery:

  • A loaf of Morrisons medium white sliced bread
  • A tub of Morrisons tomato and basil pasta sauce
  • A tin of Branston baked beans
  • A can of Morrisons tomato soup
