'I bought 250 things on Pretty Little Thing but only spent £21 - I don't even want half of it'

Many of us ordered a few bits and bobs we didn't need on Black Friday, drawn in by all that advertising and those irresistible bargains.

But Leah McMurdock was left drowning in pink delivery bags from online giant Pretty Little Thing after buying 250 items in the sale.

The 25-year-old bagged herself £2,000 worth of clothes for just £21 using her clever ordering hack - with every order arriving in a separate plastic carrier bag.

Her buys included clothing, accessories, shoes, bed sheets and pajamas for just £21, with items costing between 6p and 54p.

And Leah, from Manchester, doesn't even want all the items she managed to nab and admits she given half of it away to friends and to charity.

She said: “I didn’t have a wish list beforehand, I just went for it and bought what I saw.

“But it turned out really well!”

Leah feels like she has “won” PLT’s Black Friday sale this year and is glad she invested three hours and 45 minutes to secure her new fashion items.

To get her deals, she logged onto Pretty Little Thing’s app religiously throughout Black Friday and purchased ONE item at a time so nobody else could nab them from her basket.

Pretty Little Thing had a huge sale with some items reduced to pennies and others going for free, but many found themselves unsuccessful on the day.

She said: “Every hour there were so many people on social media saying it’s all a scam and they couldn’t get anything but I found it super easy, there was so much in stock.

“I did it every hour for the 12 drops on the Friday and came out with over £2,000 worth of PLT for less than £25.

“I’ve kept about half of it and given my friends lots then the rest to charity.”

Leah’s living room was drowning in PLT clothes once all of the parcels were delivered.

About 100 of her orders were free due to the fast fashion giant offering 100% off items as part of its pre-Christmas push.

She even joked about the first 27 bags arriving at her house.

But Pretty Little Thing’s mammoth pre-Christmas sales have been slammed by climate activists who say the sickening trend is killing the planet.

Environmental campaigners questioned how much the online retailer pays its workers to be able to offer such hefty discounts.

They attest that overproduction of clothes - and flogging them so cheaply - pollutes oceans and releases high levels of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.

However, PLT stood firm that its annual up to 100% off sales are incorporated into its costing model.

The retailer said: “The items on sale are carefully selected and discounting is a marketing investment that we make and is incorporated into our costing model.

“It does not in any way impact the cost price we pay to suppliers, or the way we value the work that goes into creating the garments.

“We use our discounting strategies to give our customers access to on trend items no matter what their budget.”
