'I asked for a marble manicure - people say the artist deserves to be jailed'

Generally speaking, there's not much that can go wrong with a manicure.

All you need to do is pick the shape, the colour, the desired length of the nail, and if you want some extra fancy nail art that can be arranged too.

The whole process happens in front of your very eyes so there are no nasty surprises.

However, one woman still managed to walk away with a set that looked nothing like she had imagined.

Emii Ervine went to the salon with an idea in mind and even turned up to her appointment with a reference picture to ensure there was no miscommunication on what she wanted.

But when she walked out of the salon, she was so horrified she had to share the results on her TikTok, @emiiervine.

This is what Emii asked for (TikTok/@emiiervine)

Emii took part in a popular trend where users share expectations versus reality pictures, the first being the chic baby blue and pink marble design she asked for, and then what she was left with.

The inspiration photo showed two of the model's nails in one block colour and then the others were painted in a pink and blue marble style.

But what she ended up with couldn't have been further from what she wanted.

The dusky blue colour had been switched out for a bright aqua shade and the marble design didn't look marble at all.

But this is what she ended up with (TikTok/@emiiervine)

Since being posted, the video has been liked one million times, and has more than 7,100 comments from people who were stunned at the final result.

One person said: "Noooo girl, at this point just sue them."

Another added: "Did they go to jail for that day light robbery?"

"Jail," a third wrote. "Immediately jail."

A fourth joked: "This looks like when I used to put scotch tape on my nails as a kid to pretend I had nails."

Someone else admitted they had initially taken the nail tech's side, saying: "I was going to say that looks like a really hard style to do and it’s not really their fault for not being able to do it...

"But nah they did you WRONG!"
