I Am Nomad luxury show home in 100-year-old sandstone villa up for sale in Bishopbriggs

A striking three-bed conversion that a couple spent years transforming into a show home and interiors business is up for sale.

The apartment is part of an 100-year-old sandstone villa in a leafy suburb in Bishopbriggs and is packed with period features such as stained glass windows, ornate ceiling cornicing, grand fireplaces and tiles along with modern, luxury touches, including French-inspired Farrow and Ball Tourbillion wallpaper.

Claire and Alistair Johnston launched I Am Nomad in 2017, a unique concept which involved opening up their painstakingly designed home in Bishopbriggs to homeware-daft Glaswegians every few months.

They sell eclectic and colourful vintage furniture, ceramics, candles and soft furnishings sourced from local makers and shops around Scotland – and launched their own shop in Great Western Road off the back of its success.

The pair said in an Instagram post they are "very sad to leave" but that it's time to diversify: "I feel I have done everything I want to do to this beautiful property within our budget. So we are planning to pass this beauty onto someone else to enjoy."

The property ad reads: "The internal accommodation comprises; grand entrance hallway giving access to all main apartments, striking formal lounge with impressive bay window and detailed ceiling features, large dining kitchen with luxury wall and floor units, integrated appliances and plenty of space for a dining table and chairs. The kitchen offers a great space for families and for entertaining, and it has direct access to the private gardens.

"There are three well proportioned double bedrooms with flexible use, a master en-suite shower room and fitted wardrobes, a family bathroom with fresh white three piece suite and a wc/ cloaks.

"The specification includes gas central heating. The gardens are on-the-level and enclosed adding extra privacy and great for families. To the front of the property there is a sweeping driveway with off-street parking for several cars. This truly unique home is not to be missed and early viewing is highly recommended."

It's on the market for offers over £298,000. Check it out on Vanilla Square.
