'I am as proud of you all' - Nottingham Forest honour veterans with the Last Post

This is the moment Nottingham Forest and Derby County paid tribute to those service men and women that have lost their lives in war.

Both clubs, steeped in tradition, observed a minute’s silence at the club’s annual Remembrance Day game, while the Last Post was played with D-Day survivor Ralph McClure in close attendance.

During the Remembrance tribute, supporter group Forza Garibaldi created a huge display across the Trent End to honour five men that served at war, having played for the Reds.

The shirts of both clubs were adorned with the Poppy, and the Royal British Legion were present at the City Ground, collecting for the cause.

Veteran Mr McClure admitted the reception was fantastic, from all four sides of the sold-out stadium.

"Thank you for the fantastic reception from the club and all the fans. I just did what you all would have done. We were fighting for freedom.

"I am as proud of you all."
