I am a lot like my character Sayuri in Woh Toh Hai Albelaa, says Hiba Nawab

Hiba Nawab is a lot like her character Sayuri in Woh Toh Hai Albelaa, which also features Anuj Sachdeva, Shaheer Sheikh and Kinshuk Vaidya. The actress is happy to be a part of the daily soap, as it is not the run-of-the-mill sort. She shares, “When the story and my character sketch were narrated to me, I realised that the show was different from other daily soaps. There are a lot of twists as you move from one sequence to another. I can say it is going to be addictive because even I want to know what’s going to happen next.”

It’s like a homecoming for her as she is working with producer Rajan Shahi after seven years. Her last show with the production house was Tere Sheher Mein in 2015. She says, “I was very excited when Rajan sir called me and said that he wanted to have a meeting with me. I agreed to be a part of it without even batting an eyelid. I have worked with him before and it was a wonderful experience.”

In the show, she plays Sayuri Sharma, the eldest of the three daughters in the Sharma family. Speaking about her character, she said, “Sayuri is a strong and level-headed woman. She is someone who has taken up the responsibility of her whole family. There is no man in the family, so she has become one to take care of everyone’s needs. All the ups and downs the family has faced, have made her mature and responsible. However, she is also vibrant and full of life.”

Hiba says that her character is relatable. She adds, “I feel that I have also become mature and a multitasker like Sayuri. I try to strike a balance between my personal and professional life. Another aspect that’s relatable is that like Sayuri, I, too have been inspired by my mother. My mom has always put her family before everything else. I have learnt a great deal from her and I am a lot like my character.”
