If you've ever managed to accidentally shrink something you own, you might think that the only thing left to do is donate the item to charity or throw it out since it no longer fits.
But according to one woman on TikTok, there's actually a way you can reverse the effects of shrinkage - and all you need to make it work is water and some baby shampoo.
Ashley Creight, from the US, said she had to call her mum after she discovered one of her favourite dresses had shrunk in the wash, and was told to leave the garment to soak in a bowl full of lukewarm water and a tablespoon of baby shampoo.

She said in her video: "Yesterday I was doing laundry and I shrunk one of my favourite dresses. So what do I do? I call my mum, because my mum knows everything.
"So I'm going to show you guys how to do it in case you shrink something and don't know how to fix it.
"Take a bowl and fill it with lukewarm water. Then you're going to take some baby shampoo and you're going to take a tablespoon and drop it in [the bowl].
"Then I'm going to take the dress that I shrunk and submerge it, and leave it in there for 30 minutes to an hour."

Ashley, who posts under the username @ashcreight, later posted a follow-up video in which she revealed the end result - and she was able to slip the dress on without any issues.
The woman took her dress out of the bowl and wrung it out so that it wasn't dripping wet before she then put it on a coathanger to let it air dry in her garden.
And she then included an extra clip of her wearing the dress after it had dried, as she said the garment was back to its original shape before it had shrunk.
She said: "It stretched itself out! I gave it a nice little steam and I'm going to iron the sleeves so they're in place. But, ta-da!"
Commenters on the video were thankful to Ashley for sharing the tip, as many of them said it was "valuable information" that they'd use in the future - while others recommended using fabric softener or hair conditioner if you don't have access to baby shampoo.
One person said: "Hair conditioner works too. Good laundry hack!"
While another added: "For those of us without mum's to call, this is valuable information. Thanks!"
And a third wrote: "You can use fabric softener also works great, especially for shrunk jeans."
