Hypnotherapy helps boy who would only eat cheese spread and would consume tub a day

A schoolboy who could not eat anything but Dairylea sandwiches for a decade has been cured by hypnotherapy.

Zachary Twigger, 10, got a taste for the cream cheese when he was being weaned as a tot and was eventually eating a full tub a day.

Any other kind of food made him gag and spit and he was diagnosed with neophobia – a fear of food.

His mum Becky said: “The only thing he could keep down was Dairylea sandwiches.

“As he got older he started asking me to try other foods. We went past a Chinese restaurant and he said he really liked the smell of the food.

“But when he tried it, he couldn’t even get the food to his mouth.”

Doctors said he would grow out of it but he had type 1 diabetes and was losing weight so mum-of-three Becky, from Coventry, got in touch with life coach David Kilmurry.

Zachary ate a roast and trimmings after a two-hour hypnosis session.

David said: “He tucked straight into it. It was pure music to my eyes.”

Zachary added: “Now I can’t wait to try different foods. I want to go to Pizza Express.”
