Hyndland police incident: Man charged with attempted murder after officer struck by car

A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in the Hyndland area of Glasgow which left a policeman hospitalised with serious injuries.

A 36-year-old constable was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after being struck by a vehicle during a disturbance in the Devonshire Gardens area yesterday evening.

Police confirmed last night that plain clothed officers were in the area as part of an ongoing investigation when the disturbance happened.

Two men, aged 30 and 53, were arrested, with the latter also taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after sustaining injuries - which police described as serious but non-life threatening.

Police have now confirmed that the 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, the Daily Record reports.
