Hyndland coffee bar Absolute Roasters announces closure

A popular Glasgow coffee bar has announced it will be closing after its lease was ended by the landlord.

Absolute Roasters will be closing their shop on Hyndland Road on February 19 - but have promised to come back bigger than ever.

The company announced on social media that their short-term lease on the Hyndland unit has been terminated due to their landlord going ahead with redevelopment earlier than planned.

But, after going from 'a van in a shed' to one of the west end's most popular coffee bars in the space of a year, we suspect this won't be the last we hear from them.

Announcing the closure, they said: "We cannot thank you all enough for the incredible support you have given us on our journey here, it's come to an end sooner than we had anticipated.

"We would have loved to tell we already have a new place to move into however we are currently still looking for the right site.

"If you're a shop landlord and want to work with a bunch of Absolute Roasters or know of any sites that are available please give us DM. This is not the end, this is just the beginning of a new chapter in the Absolute Roasters story.

"Bigger and better announcements coming soon."

Absolute Roasters have become a popular fixture in the city's coffee scene through their Firhill coffee van and residency at the Dockyard Social.

We can't wait to see what they get up to next...
