Hyderabad weather: Rains douse scorcher, usher pleasant weather this week

HYDERABAD: Summer rains have brought in much-needed relief for the denizens as the maximum temperature in the city has dropped to 34 degrees Celsius.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, light to moderate rains are likely to occur at a few places in Telangana for the next five days.

On Saturday, Hyderabad witnessed pleasant weather recording maximum temperature of 34 degree Celsius, which is 2.2 degree Celsius less than the maximum temperature recorded on Friday. The city recorded minimum temperature recorded of 24 degrees Celsius.

“Generally cloudy sky, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and Westerlies/ North-Westerlies surface winds (6 – 10 kmph) likely to occur in parts of the city,” said IMD, Hyderabad.

The day temperatures are expected to be around 35 degree Celsius in the city during the next two days.

When it comes to districts, heavy rainfall occurred at a few places inVikarabad and isolated places in the Narayanpet districts on Saturday.

Ramagundam, Adilabad and Badrachalam have recorded a maximum temperature of over 40 degrees Celsius, followed by Khammam with 39.6 degrees Celsius, Medak (37.6), Hanumakonda (37.5), Mahabubnagar (32.4).

Light to moderate rainfall have been forecast for almost all over state by the IMD.

“Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning likely to occur at isolated places in few districts of Telangana until May 25,” predicted IMD.
