HYDERABAD: Robbers snatched away a bag containing 50 lakh cash from an employee of a steel trader after ramming his scooter with their two-wheeler at Afzalgunj on Wednesday night.
At 10pm on Wednesday, Jog Singh, 58, a steel trader from Feelkhana, lodged a complaint with Afzalgunj police stating that at 8.20pm he gave 50 lakh cash to his employee Mitta Lala Raj Purohit, 49, asking him to hand it over at the former’s home.
When Mitta Lal Raj Purohit was travelling from Feelkhana to Jog Singh’s house at Poosala Basthi in Jambagh on his scooter, two unknown men suddenly came on a bike from behind and rammed into the scooter at Sudha Medical shop lane in Poosala Basthi, Afzalgunj inspector M Ravinder Reddy said.
While Mitta Lal fell on the road along with the scooter, one of the offenders picked up the cash bag and fled with his associate on the bike.
After the incident, Mitta Lal tried to chase the offenders for some distance on foot, but they managed to escape towards Putlibowli.
Mitta Lal, who suffered minor injuries to his feet, immediately alerted Jog Singh and he reached the spot.
Based on the complaint of Jog Singh, the police registered a robbery case.
Afzalgunj police were verifying the CCTV footage to zero in on the offenders.
