Hyderabad: Mason, 45, bludgeoned to death by relatives

HYDERABAD: A 45-year-old mason was bludgeoned to death by his relatives due to personal enmity in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Anjaneyulu had been living in Lenin Nagar's Jagadgirigutta with his wife Saraswathi and their daughter Jyothy.

On Wednesday, Anjaneyulu went to his relative Maisayya's house in Dayanand Nagar in Suraram under Dundigal police station limits.

At around 12.15am on Thursday, Maisayya's son, Gangulu, called Jyothy alleging that Anjaneyulu was responsible for his mother's death and he ended up in a fist fight with Anjaneyulu during an argument.

"Gangulu's mother died three months ago due to unknown reasons at a relative's house. As she died shortly after meeting Anjaneyulu, Gangulu and his family suspected Anjaneyulu might have done something to her and they bore a grudge against him," Dundigal inspector P Ramana Reddy said.

When Gangulu threatened to teach Anjaneyulu a lesson, the latter's family warned him not to harm the former.

A little later Gangulu again called Jyothy and informed that he broke the hands, legs and teeth of Anjaneyulu.

At 1.40am, Gangulu's friend Shiva called Jyothy and said that Anjaneyylu was killed.

Immediately, Jyothy, along with her family members, rushed to Gangulu's house at Suraram and found her father lying dead in a pool of blood.

Based on the complaint of Jyothy, police registered a murder case against Gangulu and his relatives, Shiva, Pawan and Yadamma. The accused have been taken into custody.
