HYDERABAD: After nearly nine years, a rape accused was awarded life imprisonment by a local court in Nampally on Thursday for raping a 10-year-old girl in Banjara Hills.
Police said that the 30-year-old accused was imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 and sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for life. In 2012, when the victim was at an under-construction building, the accused had raped her. After the case was registered by Banjara Hills police, a chargesheet was filed by investigating officer M Sudharshan. After trial, the court pronounced the sentence.
