Hyderabad labourer arrested for misbehaving with daughter

HYDERABAD: A 45 year old construction worker was booked for misbehaving with his daughter at their house in Kacheguda. Police arrested the accused and sent him to judicial remand on Wednesday.

According to Kacheguda SI Ch Srinivasulu, the accused is a construction labourer and along with his wife and two daughters, he has been residing in Ratna Nagar area of Kacheguda.

On Monday night, the accused came home drunk. "After everyone slept, the accused misbehaved with his 16 year old daughter who is a student. She woke up and raised an alarm. The girl's mother confronted the accused and along with the victim, approached police on Tuesday," the SI said.

Based on the complaint of the victim, a case was registered against the accused under section 354-a (sexual harassment) of the IPC and the POCSO Act. The victim was sent to Bharosa centre for counselling and the accused was arrested. He was produced before the court and sent to judicial remand on Wednesday.
