HYDERABAD: Following the enthusiastic response to the inoculation programme at Devinagar in Malkajgiri GHMC circle, there was a call to raise awareness campaigns among domestic helps about importance of social distancing and using masks.
Some of the beneficiaries included women working as domestic help, who said that raising awareness about Covid-appropriate behaviour among their peers is important as they have to visit several homes. Also, families of most domestic helps are dependent on their income to make ends meet.
M Padma, who renders her services as domestic help to some families in the area, brought her two daughters - M Sirisha and M Kavya - for vaccination at Devinagar. Sirisha said: "We used to urge our mother to wear a mask at work. Though she was aware, sometimes, she used to forget to carry a mask. But now it has become a habit."
