Hyde Park stabbing: Teenager charged with attempted murder after water fight descends into violence

A teenager has been charged with attempted murder following a water fight in Hyde Park which descended into violence.

Scotland Yard said Josh Clemence, 18, was charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of grievous bodily harm with intent, in relation to two stabbings in Hyde Park on 19 July.

Both male victims were taken to hospital and later discharged.

Three people, including a police officer, were stabbed during the disorder at the central London park. A second officer suffered injuries from a flying bottle as police tried to contain aggressive crowds.

Mr Clemence, from west London, is also charged with possession of a knife, possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and two counts of handling stolen goods.

He is due to appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
