Veteran BBC newsreader Huw Edwards has urged the public to stay at home during the coronavirus pandemic after being treated in hospital for pneumonia.
Posting on Twitter, the Welsh newsreader revealed he would be returning to BBC this week and thanked the NHS for their treatment.
The 58-year-old was treated at King’s College Hospital in London and his post made no mention of coronavirus.
“Big thanks to @KingsCollegeNHS for superb care #pneumonia,” he wrote on Twitter.
“I’ll be back at @BBCNews this week — keep safe everyone and follow the guidelines #StayHomeSaveLives”.
Edwards accompanied the good news with a photo of himself enjoying a beer.
Edwards received well-wishes from colleagues and fellow journalists, with Sky News commentator Alastair Bruce writing: "Huw, really good news that you have conquered this vile pestilence and our thanks to those that fought with you."
"Glad you are on the mend Huw!,” wrote BBC medical correspondent Fergus Walsh.
Meanwhile, Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway revealed last week that her husband Derek Draper is in intensive care after contracting coronavirus.
Good Morning Britain hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid sent their well wishes to Garraway and Draper on this morning’s show, saying they wish “every ounce of strength” to Draper.
