Hutchesons City Grill in Merchant City to 'remain closed' as bosses focus on sister venues

Bosses at Hutchesons in Merchant City have told Glasgow Live the restaurant will "remain closed" until further updates as they focus on sister restaurants.

A lots of restaurants are starting to open up while we ease out of lockdown but some old favourites still haven't - including Rogano, as we reported yesterday, where staff may face redundancy.

Although sister restaurants The Butchershop Bar & Grill and The Spanish Butcher have opened back up, the doors to Hutchesons remained ominously closed when eateries were allowed to reopen indoors in July.

A representative from the restaurant told Glasgow Live that the restaurant will "remain closed" until further updates.

She said: “We are excited to have reopened two of our venues so far, The Butchershop Bar & Grill and The Spanish Butcher.

"At present, our focus is on successfully bringing both of these businesses forward. Hutchesons City Grill shall remain closed and any further updates shall be made available over time.”

Located inside the A-listed historical Hutchesons Hospital building, built in 1802, the stunning Ingram Street venue was also the beginnings of Hutchesons Grammar School.

We hope there's good news on the horizon soon and would love to pay a visit when Hutchesons is able to reopen again.
