Husky corner Byron Murphy lands on NFL’s 2019 All-Combine team

Now that the NFL scouting combine is officially in the books, draft analyst Chad Reuter put together his All-Combine team for NFL.com. Former University of Washington defensive back Byron Murphy is one of two cornerbacks to make the list.

“While his jumps (36.5-inch vertical, 10-0 broad) and 40 time (4.55 seconds) were pedestrian, Murphy was clearly the best corner on the field during drills; in fact, Ballentine (the other corner to make the team) was the only other guy in Murphy’s area code,” Reuter notes. “Murphy was a smooth mover in all position workouts and high-pointed or snatched the ball from the air like a receiver.”

Murphy is widely regarded amongst analysts and projected to go in the first round of this year’s NFL draft. In 14 games played for the Huskies last season, Murphy logged 58 combined tackles, 13 passes defensed, four interceptions and one forced fumble.

Here’s a look at the highlights from his NFL combine workouts.
