Husein Balic addresses Celtic transfer link with Southampton and Brentford also interested

Husein Balic has responded to speculation linking him with a move to Celtic.

The LASK wide man could be available for as little as €3million in January with the Austrian club feeling this financial strain of the COVID-19 pandemic.

That could put Neil Lennon on alert, but he is likely to face competition from Southampton and English Championship side Brentford, who are also keeping tabs on the pacey winger.

Balic is eligible to represent either Austria or Bosnia, and is aware of the rumours regarding his future, telling Bosnian website reprezentacija.ba: "I also read that in the media.

"We need to wait and see how much truth there is in all this, that is, how concrete it is.

"But I don't care much for that. I focus now only on the national team and my club. The work needs to be done on the pitch in the right way, and we will see if there is an offer."

Bolstering his options on the flank this January could appeal to Lennon, with James Forrest out until the New Year at least.
