Husband who saw pregnant wife die suddenly in bed says 'her face just went blank'

A mum-of-three died suddenly while she was chatting to her husband in bed when her face 'just went blank'.

Laura Bolton-Williams was four-months pregnant when she suffered a brain haemorrhage at her family home in Perton, Staffordshire.

The tragic 36-year-old leaves behind children Ethan, 18, Alexander, 11, and Caitlyn, seven, and husband Scott - who she had been in a relationship with since high school.

Her partner says they were sitting up having a conversation and she just stopped talking.

Scott has now paid tribute to his childhood sweetheart after the devastating day on April 3 and says the family are trying to rebuild their lives.

He told Birmingham Live : "She wasn’t ill at all. We were talking to each other in bed and her face just went blank.

“The ambulance arrived but it was instant. Within 20 minutes I knew that there was no coming back.

“She had a brain haemorrhage, but it was something to do with the baby they think.

“It was honestly just horrendous. It has been tough, but it is started to get a bit better now.”

Laura and Scott were talking in bed when she suffered a bleed on the brain – something which Scott says may have been caused by her pregnancy.

The brave dad added: “It's been an incredible loss for us all. Laura was the kindest of people and was loved by everyone who met her.

“She was an organ donor and her organs went on to save three people's lives, something which she would be so proud of.

“This was the kind of person she was and she would want us to all to help and support each other in any way we can.”

In an effort to keep the beloved mum’s memory alive, Scott has raised money for children’s bereavement charity Winston’s Wish.

With the help of family and friends, over a whopping £13,000 was collected through donations.

Scott wrote on the fundraising page: “Winston’s Wish is an incredible charity providing emotional and practical bereavement support to children, young people and those who care for them.

“This charity is fundamental in supporting children and their families and any donations, whatever the amount, will make such a difference to their work.

“Laura would love that your donations are going to help these children & their families who are going through the most difficult time of their lives.”

Scott, who owns landscaping company Able Greenscapes, has recently revamped a garden at Perton First School to honour his late wife.

Scott says that he will continue to find ways to give back and keep Laura’s memory alive.

The dad has decided to put on a charity ball on Saturday, October 23, at the Mount Hotel in Tettenhall.

Tickets are not available yet, but information will be included on the landscaping company’s Facebook page which you can see here.
