Not all relationships are built to last. But if you’re looking for a way to leave your lover, there are certainly better ways to go about it than wrecking your spouse’s car, taking all their stuff, and leaving them with nothing but an apology note explaining you don’t love them anymore.
It sounds brutal but that is exactly what one woman on TikTok experienced after returning home from a girl’s trip to Ireland. ShayLee Raye realized something was wrong when her husband started ghosting her while she was on her trip.
In a video posted earlier this month, ShayLee explains that, upon returning from her trip she messaged her husband to ask for him to pick her up from the airport. He refused, telling her he would be at his parents in Wyoming to help empty out their storage shed. This was a highly confusing message considering that it seemed like something he could do another weekend and he hadn’t seen his wife in nine days. However, the truth would soon be revealed.
Turns out ShayLee’s husband had been busy in the days while she was away. She arrived home to find he had cleared out the house, taking many of her belongings, including the KitchenAid which had been a gift from ShayLee’s mother. Turns out he wanted a divorce, although he refused to give a good reason for his decision. He’d also taken her life savings, and even crashed her car, although he promised to sort out the insurance, which he explains in the letter he left.
What was in the letter?
In a second video, ShayLee reads out the multi page letter in full to her audience. In it, he explains that “love is not enough,” and that they just both have different visions for their future. It’s all pretty generic but the real telling part is when he claims he’s just taken what’s his from the apartment, whereas ShayLee claims he has taken “literally everything.” He also made off with all their wedding presents.
What’s worse is that he smashed the wing mirror on her car. Although he tells her not to worry about it in the letter, ShayLee says that she checked and discovered that the insurance claim had been canceled. The guy likely wanted to try and resolve it and save himself a hefty amount as it turns out the repair costs were quoted at around $1,300.
Thankfully most of TikTok is on ShayLee’s side. The official KitchenAid account even contacted her. Other viewers suggested she get the police involved, another advised her to “File for abandonment, and theft before he can file for divorce.” The rest of the comments were justifiably roasting the man for option to divorce his wife in such a cowardly manner.
