Christmas is now behind us so millions of us up an down the country will be digesting all that food and drink, and kids will be enjoying their new toys.
But one dad has been receiving a strong backlash after he tried to control what his six-year-old should spend her £40 present on.
The kid got her money from a family member for Christmas and had found something to spend a portion of it on.
But the dad felt this would be a waste of money - and upset their daughter when he told her this in no uncertain terms.

Taking to the 'Am I Being Unreasonable?' forum on Mumsnet, the mum explained that her daughter enjoys fluffy toys, so was excited when she went to the shop where she found a lot of fluffy items.
In the post, the woman, who remained anonymous, explained: "First thing she saw was a TY toy (fluffy panda with big eyes), it was £6.99, it was high up so she asked if she could have it.
"Husband spent 2 minutes persuading her she has enough of them and to buy something else, the discussion ended in tears."
The mum went onto explain that even when the daughter started to cry, the dad did not let up and tried to get her to buy something else as that toy was a waste of money.
She wrote: "I felt it was almost controlling and even when she cried he still didn’t stop until I pulled him to one side and asked him to.
"I reminded him to pick his battles, that it was meant to be a fun part of Christmas for her and just because her interest isn’t his doesn’t mean it’s invalid and she should change.
"He feels it was wasted money, there was lots of things in the shop she’d also like and he had her best interest at heart. He said he has his parenting ways and that they’re different from mine and I should respect that."
In response, many have been in support of the daughter and said the dad should not have acted in this way.
One person wrote: "Husband is being mean. It's her Christmas money. Poor daughter."
While another stated: "The joy of being given money as a child is that you spend it on exactly what you want. Your husband was unreasonable to attempt to impose his wants on daughter and to reduce her to tears."
